Disability Torah for Yom Kippur 5786
We are approaching Yom Kippur, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar. This day is a time for soul-searching, teshuvah and, as I write in my piece for The Disability Torah Project, a invitation to honest not-knowing. At its essence, Yom Kippur invites us to get real with the truth of our lives, but it’s often quite difficult to do that. This piece is an invitation to investigate in your own experience ways you might make this Yom Kippur deeply meaningful and resonant with the truth of your own experience.

My piece can be found here. What Happens When The Illusions Fall Away?
I strongly encourage you to read some of the other contributions to the Disability Torah Project, an absolutely needed and magnificent resource.
I want to wish everyone who observes Yom Kippur a meaningful day, an easy fast for those who can safely fast (check out A Mitzvah To Eat if fasting is unsafe for you for any reason).
