Some contemplation for Parashat Beshalach

This Shabbat is a special one. Known as Shabbat shira—the Shabbat of song—it is one of two times in the annual Torah reading cycle that we publicly read the Song at the Sea.

This song contains what has become a famous verse in many communities. One possible way to translate it is “my strength and the song of the divine, together they will be for me my salvation/redemption.”

In this short video recorded as part of Weekly Wisdom, a series on the weekly parsha from Or HaLev: Jewish Spirituality and Meditation I explore this verse, inviting us to take it into our lives.

You can subscribe to receive weekly wisdom via email through Or HaLev’s website. You can watch my video at the link below and I encourage you to subscribe to Or HaLev to learn from some truly fantastic Jewish mindfulness and meditation teachers. Shabbat shalom!
